There are nouns (people, places, things and ideas) that we can count and those that we cannot.
A countable noun is one that has a singular form and a  plural form. For example, "dog--dogs," "teacher--teachers," "house--houses."
An uncountable noun is one that usually cannot be expressed in a plural form. For example,  "water," "sugar," "money," "food." These words are always singular.  NO:  "He had some  moneys. We need to know the correct words to use with each.
